ఆఫీసుకి వెళ్ళే ముందు అమ్మకి ఫోన్ చేసా...
"మన పెద్దత్తమ్మ కొడుకు పెళ్ళికి వెళ్తున్నాం రా...వచ్చాక మాట్లాడతా.."
ఏదో హడావిడిలో అమ్మ!!
ఫోన్ పెట్టి ఆఫీస్ బ్యాగ్ సర్దుకుంటుంటే...
"Rakesh weds Sridevi" కొలీగ్ నిన్న ఇచ్చిన పెళ్ళి పత్రిక!!
ఆఫీస్ కి వెళ్ళి సీట్లో కూర్చున్నా.. ఎప్పటిలాగే మేనేజర్ క్యాబిన్ వైపు చూసా..
"ఏంటి? మన పెళ్ళి కాని మేనేజర్ సీట్లో లేడేంటి"? నాలో ఆశ్చర్యంతో కూడిన ఆనందం.
"నీకు తెలియదా? పెళ్ళి చూపులట. ఈ రోజు సెలవు" కొలీగ్ సమాధానం.
ఈ రోజుకి వీడి నస తప్పిందని ఆనందం ఒక వైపు..
ఈ పెళ్ళి కుదిరితే ఆ అమ్మాయి పరిస్థితి ఏంటా అని జాలి ఇంకో వైపు..
కంప్యూటర్ ఆన్ చేసాను.
"Please come and have sweets at my desk. I got engaged."
కొలీగ్ నుంచి ఒక మెయిల్.. దానికి ఒక 20 రిప్లైలు...
అక్కడికి వెళ్ళి స్వీట్ తీసుకుని నోట్లో పెట్టుకోగానే, ఎదురుగా ప్రాజెక్ట్ మేనేజర్...
"As you know Rakesh is on marriage leave. You need to complete his assignment also. Thanks for your support." అని చెప్పి నా సమాధానం కోసం కూడా చూడకుండా వెళ్ళిపోయాడు..
ఒక్కసారిగా నోట్లో ఉన్న స్వీట్ చేదుగా అయిపోయింది..
నానా తంటాలు పడి, పని పూర్తి చేసుకుని బయట పడ్డాను.
సాయంత్రం ఇంజనీరింగ్ మిత్ర బృందం conference call.
"పెళ్ళికి ఇంకా లేట్ చేస్తే ఎవరూ పిల్లనివ్వరని భయపెడ్తున్నాడ్రా మా నాన్న" ఒకడి గొంతులో కంగారు...
"చెల్లెలు ఉండటంతో బతికిపోయా.. ఈ సంవత్సరానికి లైఫ్ బిందాస్" పద్మవ్యూహం నుంచి త్రుటిలో తప్పించుకున్న అభిమన్యుడి ఫోజులో ఇంకొకడు..
"అమ్మాయి సైడ్ నుంచి అంతా ఓకే రా.. ఇంట్లో వాళ్ళని ఎలా ఒప్పించాలో అర్థం కావటం లేదు" 3 సంవత్సరాలనుంచి ప్రేమలో మునిగిపోతూ ఎప్పుడు పైకి తేలతాడో తెలియని ఇంకో మిత్రుడి ఆవేదన...
నా కష్టాల గురించి చెప్పి వీళ్ళని ఇంకా భయపెట్టటం ఎందుకని అందరికి ధైర్యం చెప్పి నా రూం కి చేరుకున్నాను.
"Internet లొ వెతికితే మనకు నచ్చే అమ్మాయిలు దొరుకుతారా మాష్టారు?" laptop లో telugumatrimony.com, bharathmatrimony.com, jeevansathi.com సైట్లని 3 tabs లో మార్చి మార్చి చూస్తున్న మా రూం మేట్ సందేహం...
"అయినా అబ్బాయికి పెళ్ళి కుదరాలంటే ఆస్తిపాస్తులు,అందచందాలు ఉండగానే సరిపోదు" రాలి పోతున్న జుట్టు వైపు జాలిగా చూస్తూ ఇంకొకడి వైరాగ్యం
"వచ్చే వారమే మా అవిడని తీసుకొస్తున్నా. చాలా వస్తువులు కొనాలి. ఎవరైనా వస్తారా నాతో ?" ఇంజినీరింగ్ ఎంట్రన్స్ కి ప్రిపేర్ అవుతున్న ఇంటర్మీడియట్ విధ్యార్థిలా కంగారుతో కొత్తగా పెళ్ళైన ఇంకొక రూం మేట్..
"పెళ్ళి అనే రెండు అక్షరాల పదం ప్రపంచాన్ని ఇంతగా కుదిపేస్తోందా?" అనుకుంటూ కాసేపైనా దూరంగా పారిపోవాలి అని నా రూం లోకి వెళ్ళి విశ్రమించాను.
"పెళ్ళంటే పందిళ్ళు సందళ్ళు... తప్పెట్లు తాళాలు....తలంబ్రాలు....
మూడే ముళ్ళు...ఏడే అడుగులు.. మొత్తం కలిపి నూరేళ్ళు" అంటూ ఎదురింట్లో నుంచి పెద్ద వాల్యూం తో నా కోసమే అన్నట్లుగా వినిపిస్తున్న పాట.
"భగవంతుడా! 3 ముళ్ళు.. 7 అడుగులు.. 100 సంవత్సరాలు..
3,7,100...ఈ సిరీస్ లో తరవాత నంబర్ ఏంటి? అసలు దీంట్లో లాజిక్ ఏంటి?
ఈ ప్రశ్నలతో నా బుర్ర వేడెక్కింది.
"వద్దు రా సోదరా.. పెళ్లంటే నూరేళ్ళ మంటరా ..
ఆదరా బాదరా నువ్వు వెళ్ళెళ్ళి గోతిలో పడొద్దురా" పాట ని అంతకన్నా ఎక్కువ వాల్యుంతో ప్లే చేస్తూ నాకు నేను ధైర్యం చెప్పుకుంటూ నిద్రకి ఉపక్రమించాను.
"పెళ్ళి చేసుకుని, ఇళ్ళు చూసుకుని చల్లగా కాలం గడపాలోయ్..
ఎల్లరి సుఖము చూడాలోయ్.. మీరెల్లరు హాయిగ ఉండాలోయ్"
ఈ సారి మా రూం మేట్ నాకు పోటీగా నా కన్నా ఎక్కువ వాల్యుంతో ప్లే చేస్తున్నాడు.
తప్పదు ఈ బ్రహ్మచారిని పెళ్ళి భాధ నుంచి ఎవరు తప్పించలేరు....
ఎప్పటికైనా ఈ పెళ్ళికి లొంగిపోవాల్సిందే అనుకుంటూ భారంగా నిట్టూర్చి మళ్ళీ పడుకున్నాను.

@phani, given a chance I would like to close this chapter the way I want it. But this is something which is not so easy as a publishing a post in the blog. :-(
